"From Darkness Into Light"!! The brilliant new set from saxophonist Alex Clarke in collaboration with and featuring the world renown tenor sax player and composer Alex Garnett! A former winner of the "Rising Star" category in the 2019 British Jazz Awards and finalist of th 2020 BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year, Alex Clarke is fast becoming one of the most versatile & in demand saxophonists to have recently emerged on the British jazz scene. Alex's sound is steeped in the tradition of bebop allied with an innate sense of rhythm and an intelligent ear for harmony and a fiery melodic approach inspired by the likes of Phil Woods & Cannonball Adderley.Recently Alex has been mentored by the renowned tenor saxophonist Alex Garnett as part of the Jazz Central Mentoring Scheme,supported by Arts Council England. The partnership has further enhanced Clarke's skill as as an innovative composer, the result of which is an exciting suite of music entitled "From Darkness Into Light".
