Post-fusion, nu-jazz ensemble creating a musical experience of true freedom
DREAMSCAPES is a young UK-based post-fusion, nu-jazz ensemble formed by guitarist Julien Durand. Drawing from a wide range of influences, their sound is immersive and rich in texture, creating a musical experience of true freedom.
Electric instruments and effects craft expansive soundscapes that shift from serene, ambient moments to powerful prog-rock grooves. Known for blending multiple songs into one, DREAMSCAPES seamlessly combine improvisation with intricate structures, pulling audiences into a deep, multi-layered journey. Each performance is distinct, offering an experience that’s as much felt as heard.
Following the release of their debut three-track EP in January 2024 that includes two original pieces and the band’s take on ‘Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds’, the band performed at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival and EFG London Jazz Festivals last year and toured in September performing in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Kidderminster, Birmingham, Sheffield, London and Bristol.
The six-piece band features vocalist Lucy-Anne Daniels and sees the return of saxophonist George Garford to The Marrs Bar following his first appearance with the Torin Davis Quartet in September last year. The line is completed with Cenk Esen on keys, John Jones on bass and Jack Robson on drums.
